Bulletin May 10
The brother of Tim Franke, Shane Franke, 50, of the Soldotna, Alaska, congregation, is in critical condition as a result of a ³super bug² infection that has migrated from his ear into his mastoid bone. Update from Michelle Franke: Shane was transported to Seattleıs Virginia Mason Hospital where he underwent surgery on his neck just below the ear. They found the area again completely filled with the unknown infection. They were able to go deeper in hopes of removing enough infection so that they have sufficient time to search for a workable antibiotic. It is not thought that the surgery itself was invasive enough to affect Shaneıs hearing. Best news is that the infection has NOT spread to the brain stem! Thank you for continued prayers.
I just got a call from J. R. Williams. J. R. and Carolynıs son, Hank, took a turn for the worse. They called for an ambulance but Hank died on the way to the hospital. Please pray for J. R. and Carolyn. When I find out further information, Iıll let you know. I anointed Jim Pharris in Centennial hospital. He was attempting to cross a street and had stopped in the center turn lane when a pick-up truck driver pulled into the turn lane without seeing him. The doctors hope that the fractures of Jimıs right hip socket will heal without surgery if he can take it easy for awhile and not put too much weight on it. He has tried using a walker at the hospital. He was to go home Thursday. |
